“It’s a language I have known since my first breath -- and it’s a language all human beings know. A language we can trust and count on.”

RMPA-NA GATHERINGS in Redwood Valley, California: Over the years, we have been fortunate to offer annual Rosen gatherings during the month of May at the Frey Organic Vineyards in northern California, thanks to our hosts, Luke & Emily Frey. We hope to start these gatherings up again in the near future at a time and place to be determined. When we are active again, we hope to have you join us for this enriching and transformative experience. The May gathering is a unique opportunity to connect deeply with fellow practitioners, explore the principles of Rosen Method, and engage in a variety of activities designed to foster personal growth and community bonding.
What to Expect:

Connecting with Rosen Method Practitioners: This gathering brings together a diverse group of Rosen Method practitioners and enthusiasts. Whether you're here to deepen your practice or explore new perspectives, you'll have the chance to connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for Rosen Method.
Embracing Nature: Our time together will be enhanced by the natural beauty around us. Being in nature not only promotes relaxation and well-being but also provides a serene backdrop for our activities. We encourage you to take advantage of the outdoor spaces for reflection, movement, and connection with the environment.
Effective Communication: Strong, meaningful connections are built on open and empathetic communication. We will engage in various activities and discussions that promote active listening, sharing, and understanding. These interactions will help strengthen relationships and foster a supportive community atmosphere.
Skill Sharing: One of the highlights of our gathering is the opportunity to share and learn new skills. Participants are encouraged to lead workshops or sessions on topics of interest, whether related to bodywork, personal development, or creative pursuits. This exchange of knowledge enriches our community and provides valuable learning experiences for all.
Sharing Bodywork Sessions: Experience and share the therapeutic benefits of Rosen Method through hands-on bodywork sessions. These sessions offer a chance to both give and receive bodywork, enhancing your practice and deepening your understanding of this transformative approach.
Staying in a Residential Community: We will be staying in a residential setting that encourages a close-knit, communal atmosphere. This environment allows for continuous interaction and connection, making it easier to bond with fellow participants and enjoy the communal experience.
Movement Classes: Participate in movement classes designed to invigorate and energize you. Whether through partner dance, or other forms of movement, these sessions will help integrate body awareness and physical vitality into our time together.
Shared Meals: Eating together is a powerful way to build connections and enjoy each other's company. We will share meals that are prepared and enjoyed together, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
Laughing and Playing Together: Laughter and play are essential elements of a joyful and cohesive community. We will engage in various activities that promote fun and relaxation, helping to strengthen bonds and create lasting memories.
Collaborative Cooking: Join us in preparing and cooking meals together. This collaborative cooking experience is not only a practical activity but also a way to enjoy each other's company and creativity in the kitchen.
In Summary, our community gathering is designed to be a bonding and enriching experience, blending the principles of Rosen Method with activities that promote connection, learning, and shared joy. We look forward to spending this time with you, growing together, and creating a supportive and vibrant community.
Thank you for being part of this special event. Let’s make the most of our time together and create lasting connections and memories!

DANCING WITH DIFFERENCE:  Dancing with Difference has been meeting on Zoom for over three years. Participants are all connected through Rosen Method, and the group is free and open to any student, intern, practitioner and teacher (both bodywork or movement).

The current core group members include: Deborah Marks, Marjorie Huebner, Rossi Ross, Cassie Scott, Carolyn Chan, and Melissa Faith. (Louise Murray, Kato Wittich and Gail Bourque former core group members, attend regularly as well).

Dancing with Difference meets once a month on the 3rd Tuesday morning from 8:00 am - 9:30 am US Pacific time.

The group focuses on topics such as class, gender and sexuality, race and whiteness, identities and privilege, religion, the recent presidential election in the US, patriarchy, and identifying our values/what is important to us for our lives and our work. We have sometimes taken more than one month per topic. And, we are open for suggestions on any topics of meaning to our participants, so please feel free to suggest a topic of interest.

If you would like to be included on our mailing list to receive invitations and announcements, please contact Melissa Faith at mel.rogan7@gmail.com.

All of the meetings have been powerful in different ways and often moving and provocative. We treat these gatherings as we would a Rosen sharing circle ... taking time to be present to each other, speaking snd listening from deep places within us, approaching these issues with a kind and deep attention to each of our own stories and by holding space for emotions as they arise.

These conversations seek to bring voice and awareness to what may have been unconscious or unspoken with the promise of a safe "Rosen" container. The gatherings also bring in a larger contest, such as the cultural conditioning we often find ourselves a part of, in order to help us navigate our bodywork and movement practices and our lives, and to be more fully open to other's experiences. This often helps us move toward transformation, chance and action in the world.

If you would like to know more about Dancing with Difference, please read Gail Bourque's article about the early iteration of the group in the Rosen Method International Journal, titled: Newly Formed Rosen Gender Group: Opening a Community Conversation, RMIJ,Volume 13, Issue 2, 2020, made up of Elizabeth Smith, Louise Murray, Deborah Marks and Gail Bourque. Or, view the video of the riveting March 12, 2023 RMPA-NA-sponsored conversation between Meg Butler and Kato Wittich, which also gave the Dancing with Difference group an opportunity for wider audience participation. The RMPA-NA video is titled: Rosen for a World in Crisis, and the topic was safety.

After the RMPA-NA conversation, the Dancing with Difference group launched their monthly facilitated conversations and sharing and it has been ongoing ever since.

We would love to have you join the conversation!

STAY TUNED AND WATCH THIS SPACE FOR OTHER RMPA-NA OFFERINGS!
